Last night I won my first political race and was the top vote getter! I am a director-elect for the Colorado Centre Metropolitan District.  I will be sworn into my 4 year term on May 27, 2010.  Thank you so much to the voters for Colorado Centre.  I will be working hard for you and our district!

  1. I am so happy for you - and the people whom you will represent - and so proud that you ran and WON!

Blessings on you, my dear cyber-friend, and upon your term in office.

  2. Joan - as I have told you, I am thrilled with your election. You now join the ranks of those who have run and won - and are willing to be a part of the process. My admiration for all who seek office, win or lose, is so high I can barely describe it. My admonition to you is to put a sign on your table/desk during meetings to remind yourself that you now have a responsibility to use "Public Resources for the Public Good." I did that when I was first elected to my county board of supervisors, and that reminder and advise caused me to pause before every vote and measure what I was about to do by its call.

I believe that you will be a great public servant, and I look forward to following your service on the Colorado Centre Metropolitan District for the next four year, and many more after that (unless you are drafted to a higher calling in public service, Congresswoman Lucia Treese). Cheers!

  3. Cheryle, Fran & Bruce: Thanks so much for your kind words and advice. I have my first meeting is tonight but I won't be sworn in until 5/27. I'm going to learn the fine art of picking a trash collection service tonight!
